The Festival Med, included in the route of the largest World Music festivals in Europe, takes place in the Historical Centre of Loulé. This festival, beyond a musical alignment that brings to Portugal the best music references of the world, is also a blend of cultural references such as the gastronomy, plastic arts, street entertainment, handicraft, dancing, workshops, and much more, with the evident aim of promoting the several cultures from around the world.
It began in 2004, within the programme of “Loulé, Cidade Anfitriã do Euro 2004” (Loulé, the Host City of Euro 2004), with the objective of performing a different and unique music festival, to promote our Municipality and allow the tourism offer qualification and diversity or to revitalize the historical centre of the city.
In 2015, the Festival MED marks its 12th anniversary and, in this edition, will continue to develop an innovative and differentiating idea and will establish itself as a quality and reference event, being a great investment, due to the levels of adherence, notoriety and international popularity already achieved. It has its own identity and a brand image, which gives emphasis on the routes of the summer festivals in Europe.
